Policies + FAQ + Care

  • MASKING POLICY

Honey requires a mask covering your nose and mouth. If you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to sickness, let us kindly reschedule.

  • Pricing

The amount of time a tattoo will take can be estimated during our consultation via email. Hourly rate is 180 for more extensive work; smaller tattoos are often priced individually. I am happy to work with your price range and can draw toward what you want to spend, depending on the design. Shop minimum is $100.

Depending on the extent of the work, deposits range from $50-250, are required to secure a date, and are non-refundable. They are non-transferable without at least 24 hours notice, unless a case of sickness occurs. Do not come to your appointment if you are unwell; we are happy to reschedule you.

  • Your appointment day

Arrive on time. A 30 minute window is given to hold your appointment space.

Your drawing will be ready the day of your appointment (no exceptions), after we consult via email or in person depending on the need. Changes can be made once you arrive for your appointment if needed; a restructured drawing would require rescheduling. This is not common to happen.

All consultation is done via email unless specified otherwise.

Don't forget a state ID with your photo and birth date.

Eat and hydrate before you arrive. Wear comfortable clothing where the area to be tattooed is easily accessible. Helpful items to bring may include: a hoodie, sunglasses, headphones, a blanket, cozy socks, a charged phone, a book, snacks, water. A robe to wear backwards is good if we're tattooing your back.

  • Regular care

Night one, sleep in my bandage or wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap, air dry, and replace the bandage with plastic wrap.

In the morning, wash and dry your tattoo thoroughly. Use your hands to wash; make sure to wash away the slimy plasma well without scrubbing.

Leave your tattoo open to air — no more bandaging and no ointments. The cleaner your tattoo stays the first few days, the quicker it will heal. This means: wash and dry your tattoo when you notice it leaking or getting sticky. The more you can wash this seepage away, the less build-up and scabbing you will get. Be gentle but intentional.

By day 3 - 4 your wound is closed. You will start feeling tightness, and soon after, start peeling and flaking. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo — you can use a pea-sized amount of Lubriderm for some relief.

No sand, sun, or swimming until you’re healed.

  • Second Skin care (Saniderm, Dermsheild, Hypafix, Tegaderm)

Night one, sleep in my bandage or wash your tattoo with Dial gold antibacterial soap and replace the bandage with plastic wrap and tape.

In the morning, wash and dry your tattoo thoroughly, and apply second skin (remove the paper, apply, and remove plastic outer layer). If you’re cutting it out, best to round the edges. It’s okay if spots overlap or if there are bubbles.

You can leave the bandage on for up to a week if it hasn’t been compromised (if it starts to leak outside of the bandage, it can be susceptible to bacteria and needs changing). It is NORMAL to leak plasma and ink INSIDE of the bandage. You can replace it* or resume regular care (previous section). It is easiest to remove once you’ve stood in the shower for a while so it loosens up.

*If you need more, you can find similar waterproof adhesive bandages or Tegaderm at any pharmacy in the bandage section. Best to get the biggest size.

Once your tattoo starts peeling, you can used a pea-sized amount of Lubriderm for some relief. No sand, sun, or swimming until you’re healed.

  • FAQ

You are welcome to bring a friend.

Available drawings and flash to be tattooed can be found on Instagram (@katedecosmo or www.instagram.com/katedecosmo) in the highlights above my profile, 'Ideas' — also, I would like to tattoo more of the subject matter you see in my portfolio.

FIRST TIMERS: Preparation is key! Tattoos are painful in any spot, so I highly recommend to: eat well beforehand, bring snacks and water, and anything you may need for comfort (dress comfortably), headphones… a charged phone. We can take it at your pace. Expect that the tattoo will be painful — you never know how it will be exactly. Meditation and meditative breathing can be helpful, as it is important to be able to release tension in your body and muscles while being tattooed.
